Privacy and your choices
This page describes the website's data flows and the controls available in this browser.
Newsletter and sign-in
Newsletter signup sends your email address and any referral code to our service. Subscription records support delivery, confirmation and unsubscribe links. Use the unsubscribe link in an email to stop future newsletter delivery.
When Google sign-in is available and you choose to use it, our service receives your Google account identifier, email, name and profile image. Session cookies keep you signed in. Saved favorites and submitted jokes are associated with that account.
Writing and submissions
The public submission form sends your joke to our service for review and possible publication. A public submission is different from a private draft. The analyzer, improver, and score check calculate writing hints in your browser. Editing a draft clears its result and its search or share choices. A shared-link arrival fills the editor without running archive requests.
Archive comparisons are optional. A category comparison sends a mechanism label; the score check also sends a numeric score. Choosing “Search the archive using this draft” sends the full analyzed draft and extracted keywords to our search service. These requests may appear in operational logs.
Creating a public share card sends the full analyzed draft to our service and puts it in the share URL. Anyone with the link can read it, and recipients or social platforms may retain copies. The image shows an excerpt when the draft is long; the link includes the full text. New share responses request no caching and no search indexing, but these are not access controls. Font requests used to render new cards do not contain draft text.
The custom journey events used for search, learning, book links and downloads contain only predefined categories. They do not include your search text, joke drafts, email address, account ID or individual joke ID.
Website measurement
Google Analytics is configured for this website to help us understand usage. It may use cookies and browser and device information. Hosting and security are provided through Cloudflare, which processes requests needed to serve and protect the site. Cloudflare website analytics may also be enabled.
Our analytics loader respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals, and the preference below. Disabling optional analytics does not disable sign-in cookies, newsletter records or operational requests. A browser preference applies to this browser; clearing its storage removes that preference.
Reload after changing this preference to unload already-running analytics scripts. Existing analytics cookies can be removed in your browser settings.
